“New Leap” Global English Program Launched
In an induction ceremony held at the DSU Sports Plaza on March 2, 31 student applicants were formally selected as participants in the 2022 Class of the Dongseo Global English Program, and began their full-scale English education.
The Dongseo New Leap Global English Program provides selected excellent freshman students with an intensive English education in order to nurture them into talents with the language skills and knowledge essential to leading this era of globalization. In particular, it is designed to be just as challenging and rewarding as studying abroad at an overseas university.
Accordingly, class hours are 9 hours per week, and participating students are divided into small groups of about 10 students per class and take classes in English from native-speaking professors, while also taking up to 3 subjects per semester (9 credits) for the undergraduate major during the course so that they can acquire foundational knowledge at the same time as gaining language skills. For the language component of their program, students learn English speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and presentation skills.
