The DSU LINC+ project team announced on 23 September, 2020 that it had officially launched the ‘Korea Drone Technology Education Council’ in conjunction with four other major regional and international LINC+ project teams.

These included those based at Dankook University, at Sun Moon University, at the Wonju campus of Yonsei University, and at the Mongolian National University.

Earlier on July 24, the council developed an industry-academic cooperation program between these five teams, strengthening job hunting and entrepreneurship education, holding a joint drone technology symposium, and establishing a cooperation system between drone companies.

As part of the DSU team’s mission, it selects items for cultivating drone technical human capital for the Fourth Industrial Revolution that take advantage of regional specificity and university strengths based on the demands of local industries.

Through its accumulated industry-academia education foundation, it will lead the modernization of education in various fields, from the principles of drones to modeling.

Each participating team’s subcommittees are in charge of various specific aspects of the council’s activities, with Dankook University focusing on security logistics, DSU on cultural contents, Sun Moon University on smart convergence, Yonsei University on digital health, and the Mongolian National University on global cooperation.

Collectively, the council members aim: to continue the combined partnership of regional universities and industry institutions, to expand cooperation local businesses and companies, to develop and spread drone technology education programs, to further plan industry-academia research R&BD pilot projects, and to establish a foundational ecosystem for drone technology education.
