8월 11일 동서대학교에서 박사 학위를 받게 될 예멘 유학생이 코리안 드림을 이루었다.
주인공인 아메드 알-압시 박사는 일반대학원 유비쿼터스 IT학과에서 3년간의 과정을 마치고 8월 11일 영광의 박사학위모를 쓰게 됐다.
학위논문은 ‘PCMR: An Enhanced Parallel Computing MapReduce Framework for Big Data Processing in Cloud Environment’.
아메드 알-압시 박사은 말레이시아 멀티미디어 대학에서 석사학위를 받은 뒤 2013년 9월 동서대 박사과정에 입학했다. 그 동안 SCI급 논문과 국제학술대회 논문 등 총 6편의 임팩트 있는 논문을 발표해 왔다.
특히 빅데이터 기반 바이오인포매틱스에서 연구능력을 높이 평가받고 있는 아메드 알-압시 박사는 경동대학교의 교수로 임용되어 강원도 고성의 글로벌 캠퍼스에서 9월 1일부터 근무하며 빅데이터 분야에 대해 강의할 예정이다.

Time flies like an arrow. This week is my last week and before leaving, I want to tell you how grateful I am for being part of your community.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Korean Government Scholarship Program and NIIED for giving me the opportunity of being a KGSP Scholar which enabled me to carry out my Ph.D. throughout the past four years.
I would like also to express my sincere gratitude to all DSU professors and people who have been accompanying me during my study. I would like to thank each and every one of them.
From my first day, I have decided to join Machine Learning Research Lab. where I found myself.
Working under the guidance of my Professor Dr. Dae-Ki Kang who has been my role model of a true scholar during my Ph.D. research was a great experience.
He has been keen on helping us grow, had the patience to speak to us and listen to us, give us priceless advice on both research and career.
I want to thank him for all his support over the years, which contributed to me becoming a better version of me. | |
